Out of migratory season

People tend to think of April and water fest as the hottest of the year. May which ends today is actually quite hotter, with the sun right on your head. No migrant birds found. This Yellow-vented Bulbul just show up in Queen's Park soothing my heart.

Albino Magpie (more)

As bee_eater said on BCST forum that it was a นกกางเขนเผือก (Albino Magpie). I naturally agreed. Of course, albino of any species is rare. Then I started to wonder weather it may be a Shama.  So today I went to the same place in Phutthamonthon again. It's still there! With more shots, it became more likely that it is a Magpie. What was previously seen as nesting material is really something small on the tip of its beak.

The exact location of the find is at the wooden bridge with blueish green rails in the bamboo garden.

Times and again, when a new bird come to sight, seem to be very interesting, a new find! finally become a misidentified or worse, just a stray alien species.
May 4th, Phutthamonthon late in the afternoon, this small white bird come from nowhere perching in the bamboo garden. With nesting material. It was later identified in BCST forum as Albino Magpie. ( Shama?)

Java Sparrow นกกระจอกชวา

Mayday in SRF found a Javan Pond Heron in its breeding plumage. Out of breeding season the Pond Herons of Chinese, Javan, and Indian types are all look alike.

And then on May 3rd, in Queen's Park, there came a wonder! Two photographers were working around something next to the Victoria lotus pond. It's a small grey bird with big bright orange bill, the Java Sparrow. My new find.
