Stork-billed Kingfisher
It was a very cloudy afternoon before a very heavy down pour in Phutthamonthon. A young Kingfisher was perching in the bamboo garden. Referring to the guide book by Lekagul, it's a Stork-billed Kingfisher.

Flying Cuckoos
Thunder shower stroke Bangkok quite heavily early at 2.30 am. SRF today became quite moist and fresh. Walking birding as usual when a Plaintive Cuckoo was spot in the lotus pond. Shot showed a pair on the fly. A female in brown and a male in black.

Kingfishers in Bangkok
Time runs towards summer and Kingfishers are still showing up in Bangkok. The Black-capped Kingfisher was in Queen's Park yesterday, while the Collared Kingfisher was in Phutthamonthon today.

Baby Barbet
Phutthamonthon in March is quite warm. It seems the hole on the stratosphere which account for global warming is larger than expected. Today I stroll on the circular track around the Buddha statue. The track is about 3 km long and it take about an hour walking and birding. Lineated Barbets were heard along the way, when one was noticed to perch on a tree with a hole on the branch and left. Her babies should be there. So I wait for the mother bird to come back. Chances are to shoot her feeding. After a few minutes the baby shows up, it was waiting too. And, the mother may also wait for me to go away. So I abandoned.

Dollarbird นกตะขาบดง
February 22nd in Phutthamonthon, I was strolling the route on the western side and the sun was about to set. A bird with plumage similar to Indian Roller showed up. Some shots taken. Reviewed, it is actually a Dollarbird. My new find. It is a juvenile, so the beak is not bright orange.
Comments from BCST are more confident this bird is an Indian Roller rather.

Drongo Cuckoo นกคัคคูแซงแซว
The Weatherman said it be cool in Thailand for a few more days. Again I went to SRF. Entering Queen Sirikit Park via east gate, on the rim of lotus pond, stood a type of black bird unknown to me. Its body plumage was rather big, about 25 cm long with legs thick and hairy. Clumsy, it walked into water for a few steps and then flew up ashore without any prey. On ground, it jumped hopping a few feet and more.
Comments from BCST said it is a juvenile Asian Koel. But to me the bird is more likely a juvenile Drongo Cuckoo.

White-throated Kingfisher นกกะเต็นอกขาว
February 5th, a little warm weather, may be last ditch for winter in Bangkok. The cute White-throated Kingfisher is still here in Phutthamonthon.
